A bit about me

Liz Millar


I'm an experienced charity writer, journalist and content professional based in London. 


I moved to the charity sector more than 10 years ago after a career as a sub-editor on well-known consumer magazines, including Cosmopolitan, Radio Times, Now, Woman's Own and Time.


Over the years, I've gained experience in all aspects of charity communications, leading on copy, story gathering, content planning, production and creative. 


I love showcasing the everyday challenges and triumphs of ordinary people.


For example, my Professional Writing MA dissertation - which became a resource for a national government body - was a series of features exploring the impact of mentoring on excluded young people. Meanwhile, the content I created for a Radio 4 appeal on loneliness was described by the BBC editor as “exemplary”.


I turn complex information into engaging copy and deliver creative, impactful communications that inspire action.
